This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide which took place in Columbus on July 3 2021.

 

On July 3, 2021, at 1:52am, officers were dispatched to 686 Wedgewood Ave #4 on an unknown complaint. Officers arrived and spoke with the caller who advised he just returned to his apartment and an unknown male was inside, on the floor bleeding. Officers entered the hallway and through a partially opened the door, noticed the victim, 33yr old Dustin S. Lacey, suffering from a gunshot wound. Columbus Fire Engine #12 checked the victim's injuries and pronounced him deceased at 2:01am. A photo of the victim is attached and can be viewed on our website stopcrime.org
