Jeremy Head and Javon Starghill Homicides

This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on two Homicides which took place on the Southside of Columbus in 2015.

On January 9, 2015, Columbus police officers were dispatched to 299 Harland Drive on the report of multiple victims who had been shot. As the officers pulled up to the scene, they witnessed a vehicle parked on the side of the road with two victims inside the vehicle with gunshot wounds, and a female outside the vehicle across the street also with gunshot wounds. The backseat passenger, Jeremy Head, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the other two victims were transported to the hospital. The front seat passenger, Javon Starghill, was pronounced deceased at the hospital at a later time and the female survived her injuries. Witnesses at the scene stated they saw two males approach the parked vehicle and fire their handguns into the car before fleeing the scene on foot.  A photo of Javon Starghill and Jeremy Head may be viewed on our website, www.stopcrime.org.
