Today’s Wanted Wednesday focuses on a Homicide that occurred in Columbus.

Rapheal Jones



On 06/09/2023 at approximately 1:39PM, Columbus Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of Denue Ave. Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Rapheal Jones suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medics transported Mr. Jones to a local hospital in critical condition, where Mr. Jones was pronounced deceased at 2:46PM.

Detectives were able to determine that 28-year-old Sir Robert Martin-Sydnor and Mr. Jones were arguing when the shooting occurred. Sometime during the argument, Mr. Martin-Sydnor produced a handgun and shot Mr. Jones, fatally wounding him. Mr. Martin-Sydnor then fled from the scene on foot.

Mr. Martin-Sydnor is wanted for Murder (F-1). Mr. Martin-Sydnor is believed to be armed and should be approached with caution.
