This week’s Crime of the Week focuses on a Homicide which took place in Columbus in 2020. 

On Sunday, February 16, 2020, at approximately 6:28pm, Columbus Police Officers were called to the area of 2234 Webster Canyon Court, on the report of gunfire. Upon arrival, Officers found an injured male, later identified as Sylvonte Christopher Watkins, lying in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic 806 responded to the scene and transported Mr. Watkins to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. At 6:59pm, Mr. Watkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians. Officers also located another victim at the scene who was in stable condition.
