This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on three homicides committed in early January 2016 that have been connected through ballistic evidence in central Ohio.

On January 2, 2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., 60-year-old JUDITH FRUM was found lying in the street near Fair Avenue and S. Napoleon Avenue. She died from gunshot wounds.

On January 3, 2016, at approximately 8:26 p.m., 51-year-old LEONID KAPLEN was found near a sidewalk on Hallridge Circle, a neighborhood off McNaughten Road between E. Livingston Avenue and E. Main Street. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Gunfire had reportedly been heard in the area approximately one hour earlier.

On January 6, 2016, at approximately 7:08 p.m., 15-year-old ABOUBAKARY DIAWARA was found unresponsive on a porch near Laurelwood Drive and Vicki Court after suffering gunshot wounds.

Ballistic evidence has connected all three homicides.

All Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous. Crime Stoppers does not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations, and a special coding system protects each caller’s identity. Information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of a felony suspect may qualify for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
