On Saturday, March 14, 2020, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Columbus Police Officers were called to the area of 1601 Sullivant Avenue on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers found an injured male, lying in the street, suffering from apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic 10 transported the victim, later identified as William Dajuan-Mario Campbell, to Grant Hospital where at 8:11 p.m., he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.
Initial statements from available witnesses reported that the victim was chased into the street and fired at from a moving vehicle, which after the shooting left southbound on Ryan Avenue.
