On Sunday, December 13, 2020, at 6:17pm, Columbus Patrol Officers received a call of shots fired in the area of 1851 Republic Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located Ms. Jasmine Johnson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Ms. Johnson was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital where she succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased at 6:45pm by attending medical personnel. Witnesses indicated that an unknown person drove by the Republic Avenue location and fired multiple gunshots, striking Ms. Johnson.
