This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on an Attempted Murder and Felonious Assault that took place in Columbus.

Attempted Murder and Felonious Assault

On 12/24/23 at approximately 2:25AM the victim was working as an unarmed security bouncer at “The Spot Bar” located at 5999 E. Livingston Ave. The victim was attempting to clear the parking lot at closing time when he advised two male blacks standing in the parking lot that it was time for them to leave the premises. One of the males in particular became argumentative with the victim and pulled a handgun out of his waistband and shot the victim numerous times in the torso, arms and legs. The victim’s life was saved due to a bulletproof vest he was wearing at the time of the incident.

The suspects are two male blacks in their late twenties to early thirties. They fled the crime scene eastbound on E. Livingston Ave in a gray mid-sized SUV. Prior to shooting the victim, the suspects were talking to two other female blacks in the parking lot who regularly frequent the bar.
