This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide that took place in Columbus.


On July 3, 2021, at 1:52am, officers were dispatched to 686 Wedgewood Ave #4 on an unknown complaint. Officers arrived and spoke with the caller, who advised he just returned to his apartment and an unknown male was inside on the floor bleeding. Officers entered the hallway and through a partially opened the door, noticed the victim, DUSTIN S. LACEY, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers entered and cleared the apartment, and then requested medics to respond. Columbus Fire Engine #12 checked the victim's injuries and pronounced him deceased at scene at 2:01am.

Through the investigation, Detectives have learned that there were at least four or five additional individuals in the apartment, prior to this shooting.
