This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide in Columbus from 2022

On July 16, 2022, at approximately 8:41pm, officers were dispatched to the 3200 Block of E. Broad St. on the report of a shooting. A Good Samaritan provided aid to the victim until Columbus Police Officers, Columbus Fire EMS 14 and Whitehall Medic 152 arrived. The victim, 30yr old Lelia King, was transported to Mt. Carmel East Hospital in critical condition. Despite receiving lifesaving medical treatment, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:07pm. The victim was in between two groups of suspects shooting at each other and was struck by the gunfire.
