This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide which took place in Columbus

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 3:08pm, Columbus Police Officers were called to the area of Heatherton Drive, on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found Dawaun Lewis-Taylor suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Clinton Township Medic 61 responded to the scene and transported Dawaun to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Dawaun did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians at 3:53pm. It is unknown at this time what precipitated the shooting. However, immediately after the shooting, a silver Chrysler 300 fled the scene eastbound on Trent Road toward Northtowne Boulevard.
