ARRESTED - This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide that took place in Columbus

On 6-5-23 at approximately 12:43pm officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 3400 block of Colony Bay St on the report of a shooting. Upon Officers arrival they located a 20-year-old woman, who police identified as Kennedy Cowans, suffering from a gunshot wound. Cowans was taken to Mount Carmel East where she was pronounced dead just after 3 p.m.


Witnesses said they heard the suspect, 28-year-old Miles Gibson, and Cowans arguing when a gunshot was heard.


Mr. Gibson is wanted for one count of Homicide (F1) and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
