This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on Homicide from Columbus

On July 4, 2025, at approximately 2:41am Officers responded to multiple 911 calls with callers stating there was a shooting at 827 Wilson Ave. Upon arrival, officers located multiple people shot at scene, and multiple people were showing up at Grant Hospital and OSU East Hospital. A juvenile male victim later identified as Cameron Moore was transported to Grant hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 3:09am.  Through the course of the investigation Detectives learned there was a pop-up Vrbo house party at 827 Wilson Ave.  Detectives located multiple items of evidence to include cell phone video & surveillance video from inside and outside the house.  Through witness interviews, detectives learned there were between 150 – 200 people at this party.  The majority of witnesses interviewed indicated they learned about the party through social media and stated many party-goers inside the house were using their cell phones to take pictures and videos during the party. Homicide detectives are investigating and requesting the public's help with any information of what occurred during this shooting incident.

A total of six (6) people were shot: 
Some individuals were transported privately & others were transported by CFD Medics.

-    One (1) juvenile male (Cameron Moore) pronounced deceased at the hospital.

-    Five (5) young adults shot, but survived their injuries.

Multiple casings collected inside and outside the house.  Some of these casings link from the 827 Wilson Ave shooting scene and other shooting incidents that had previously occurred.
