This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on Homicide from Columbus









On Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:51 PM, Columbus Police officers responded to the 700 block of Stelzer Road on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found a male victim, Hober Hernandez, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic 13 personnel pronounced Mr. Hernandez deceased at 12:00AM on December 2, 2023.

Two other juvenile victims were located at scene. Both were transported by personnel on CFD Medics 20 and 21 to a local hospital. Tauron Durham did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:49 AM on December 2, 2023. The other victim survived their injuries.

Investigation showed the incident was a drive-by shooting. A four-door sedan is observed on video pulling through the parking lot. An unknown occupant of the vehicle fires shots in the direction of the victims before fleeing south on Stelzer Road. Currently detectives do not have a known motive for this homicide.
