On February 10, 2010, the victim, Ronnie Dowell, and two females were inside of the residence at 1158 McCarley Drive East when this incident occurred. They heard a noise at the back door, and one of the females yelled to Mr. Dowell that someone was trying to get in the back door. Mr. Dowell retrieved a handgun that he kept inside of the residence. He fired a shot at the back door. At about the same time, witnesses heard a second gunshot, which they believed came from the suspect, and observed the victim all to the ground.
The suspect entered the residence and demanded the “dope”, when he couldn’t fine any done he took some jewelry and fled the scene.
The witnesses described the suspect’s complexion two different way; first was a light skinned male/ black and the other was a male/black with a dark complexion. He was approximately 5’10 to 5’11 tall and wearing all black, with a bandana or ski mask over his face, and a blue or black duffle bag around his neck, hanging down in front of this chest.
